Nora Weston: Authors Supporting Authors

Guardian 2632 by Nora Weston:

Zane Grayson, the most accomplished executive director Guardian TMF has ever seen, is breaking the law…his law against time surfing. Zane has the supreme power, in 2632, to decide which paradoxes in time need altered, or deleted, but he’s frustrated. Something, or someone, is missing from his life.

Time surfing in illegal time zones is the rush Zane can’t live without. As addictive as the Martian dust called kilred, time surfing becomes Zane’s obsession. And knowing full well if caught by the Elite Guardians, he’ll suffer an unwelcome death by Time Mercs, Zane still dives deep into trouble. Soon, he discovers a mission in 2035 left him trapped in a timehole. This timehole places him in Pittsburgh, PA in 1998, instead of home. In Pittsburgh, Zane strolls into a coffee shop to see the bewitching Julia Emerson. From that point on, his life spirals out of control as he fights to protect what he loves most.

It’s possible Zane’s future is no longer in 2632...but actually in 1998. Slip through time with Zane Grayson as Guardian 2632 reveals what he will sacrifice to save a life.

Observations of an Almost Sane Lady

The world has shrunk. It’s so small there are practically no boundaries when it comes to communicating with people all over this beautiful blue orb. Night and day, Earth’s residents exist in a virtual world saturated with social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Digg, plus cell phones should no longer be referred to as such because they are mini-computers that have successfully scrambled this woman’s mind. During Guardian 2632’s book tour, my Sci-Fi adventure/romance has enabled me to connect with people not only from the good-old USA, but England, Belgium, and the Netherlands. My previous website had visitors from all over Europe, and Seychelles...an island country with a cluster of 115 in the Indian Ocean, northeast of Madagascar. This blows my mind, especially because I grew up without cell phones, with no computer, and I remember as a child watching black and white TV.

Oddly enough, Zane Grayson, the executive director of Guardian TMF, which is a time monitoring facility in the year 2632, has everything a person could imagine as far as technology goes, but he discovers living in 1998 appeals to him as well. No way would I want to go backwards! However, what Zane craves the most about 1998 is the love of his life, Julia Emerson, not the lack of technology he must accept while visiting his gorgeous pastian.

This relates to authors and readers in a huge way! No matter how a book hits the market, authors should promote it due to the sheer number of books published annually. The Internet is a useful tool authors can utilize to introduce their books to the world, and readers can interact with their favorite authors like never before. So book lovers, enjoy what technology has to offer. Below, you’ll find what I’ve observed while blog hopping.

·    Use various sites to meet authors and promote your work like AZ Publishing Services, authors’ blogs, book review blogs, Goodreads, and Booklist Online.
·    Engage with authors and readers using Twitter, Facebook, and Digg...plus any of the other social networks that interest you, but keep in mind...you still need time to read and write!
·    Create your own blog to highlight your work, and let your personality shine through.
·    Sponsor giveaways using the Internet to stimulate interest in your book, which may lead to some reviews for your latest masterpiece.
·    This one is important! Read the work of other writers, and learn from them. It’s amazing the writing talent flowing like crazy worldwide, so why not chill out with a book written by a new author?
·    Gain experience by subbing short stories and poetry. Two of my favorite sites to find markets are Duotrope’s Digest and Ralan’s Webstravaganza.
·    Make sure to participate with your blog tour interviews by replying to your visitors in a timely manner.
·    Prizes are greatly appreciated by readers, and so much fun to do!
·    If you become a guest blogger, it’s nice to follow that blog, reciprocate links, and promote the guest appearance.

With that in mind, if you are participating in a book tour, or sponsoring a contest...I’d be more than happy to tweet about it! On Twitter, I’m almostsanelady. Simply email me, and I’ll post it.
